KATHMANDU, Dec 31: The writ petition against the cabinet expansion by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is being heard today. The case is scheduled to be heard in a single sitting of judge Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada on Thursday.
Advocates Dinesh Tripathi, Lokendra Oli, Keshar Jung KC and Dinesh Lamichhane had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on December 28, saying that the cabinet could not be expanded after the dissolution of the parliament.
In the writ, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the Office of the President have been made the opposition.
After the dissolution of the House of Representatives, the incumbent Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was not even a member of the House of Representatives and the government has already formed a caretaker government.
