KATHMANDU: On the last day of the week, the share trading gauge NEPSE index has closed higher. The NEPSE index rose by 8.34 points to 2,475.26 points.
Along with the NEPSE index, the Sensitive Index, which measures the turnover of Class A companies, also rose by 1.68 points. However, the transaction amount could not reach NRs 8 billion. A total of 18,660,811 shares of 201 companies have been traded through 71,866 transactions during the day.
The transaction amount is less than on Wednesday. The turnover was over NRs 9 billion on Wednesday. On a group basis, the trade group sub-index rose the most at 4.51 percent.
Share prices of companies in hydropower, manufacturing, non-life insurance, microfinance and other groups have risen. Commercial banks, development banks, hotels, life insurance and other groups have declined.
