2,351 people infected with coronavirus in 24 hours, 10 people died

KATHMANDU: In the last 24 hours, an additional 2,351 people have been confirmed infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19).

A total of 8,884 samples of RT-PCR were tested in laboratories across the country and 2,220 and 803 antigens were tested, confirming the infection in 131 people. At the same time, the total number of infected people has reached 289,787. Of them, 10 thousand 582 are actively infected.

Of the newly infected people added on Wednesday, 1,051 are from Kathmandu Valley. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 786 people in Kathmandu, 181 in Lalitpur and 84 in Bhaktapur.

Outside the Kathmandu Valley, 225 people have been confirmed infected in Banke, 124 in Rupandehi, 88 in Kaski, 81 in Parsa, 74 in Dang, 53 in Baglung and 52 in Surkhet.

Another 10 people died

According to the ministry, 10 more people have died from the coronavirus infection. At the same time, the death toll has reached 3,112.

This is 1.07 percent of the total infected.
