COVID-19 confirmed in additional 2,049 in 24 hours, 53 people died



KATHMANDU: The coronavirus infection has been confirmed in additional 2,049 people across the country in 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 9,438 PCR tests conducted in different districts on Monday confirmed Covid-19 in 2,049 people.

Similarly, 5,381 antigen tests showed Covid-19 infection in 869 people. Likewise, the number of coronavirus appearing in RT-PCR tests in Nepal has reached 610,521.

Five thousand 147 people have been recovered from corona in 24 hours. The number of people recovering from coronavirus infection has reached 536,252.

According to the ministry, another 53 people have been killed across the country. At the same time, the number of deaths from coronavirus infection in Nepal has reached 8,465.

A total of 2,422,376 so far received first dose of vaccine while 691,494 have received second dose. The government is innoculating nowadays China’s Sinopharm Vero Cell vaccine.

A large number of people, who received first dose of Covishield vaccine produced from India’s Serum Institute, are waiting for their second dose.

Likewise, 995 people have been admitted in ICUs and 324 in ventilators across the country. A total of 61,122 people remain in home isolation and 4,682 in institutional isolation.
