Two killed in road mishap in Pokhara-Baglung highway

KUSHMA: Two persons have been killed in a road accident on Pokhara-Baglung highway on Sunday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Binod Malla, 32, of Bhuktangle of Parbat district and another man aged 44-45, according to the District Police Office, Kaski. Both the deceased were traveling on a motorcycle.

According to Subash Hamal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, a tipper truck (No. 3-01-003Ka 5173) heading towards Pokhara from the Parbat hit head-on the motorcycle (Ga 20 Pa 6030) heading towards the Parbat from Pokhara at Laxmideurali Patthardhunga of Pokhara-Baglung Highway at Annapurna Rural Municipality-3.

The injured were immediately rushed to Pokhara for treatment, but succumbed on the way, police said. The tipper driver Suresh Majhi, 25, of Indrawati Rural Municipality-10 in Sindhupalchowk and both the vehicles have been taken under control.

Police has begun investigation on the incident, said Hamal.
