Two thousand four hundred people got infected with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours in Nepal. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 7,777 people also recovered in the same period.
This was revealed in the 16,365 antigen and PCR tests conducted in various laboratories during the same period, said the Ministry.
Similarly,7,777 infected enjoyed full recovery in a day. So far, 9285,369 people have been recovered from the flu-like infection. The recovery rate stands at 95.7 per cent, said the Ministry.
Likewise, 14 more people died due to deadly infection in the past 24 hours taking the fatality caseload from deadly infection to 11,852 as of now, informed the Ministry. Case fatality rate stands at 1.3 per cent.
Currently, there are 30,241 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.
Meanwhile, 273,349 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 today alone, shared the Ministry. The government has so far received 46,570,720 doses of vaccine. A total of 34,605,000 doses of vaccine have been administered across the country on which 18,013,969 people received at least one dose and 15,932,041 people received full dose of vaccine.
The government has managed Vero Cell, Covishield, Japanese-made AstraZeneca, Swedish-made AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
According to the Ministry, the government has targeted to inoculate 19,922,164 people with 18 years or above group. A total of 17,716,090 (88.9%) have received at least one dose of vaccine (above 18 years of age group) while 14,635,879 (73.5%) have received full dose of vaccine.
Similarly, a total of 2,846,390 (83 %) children with 12 and 18 years of age group have received at least one dose of vaccine while 1,254,225 (37%) have received full dose of vaccine. In this age group, the government has a target of vaccinating 3,405,455 children.
With government’s effort of curbing transport, massive campaign on wearing face mask, among others have helped to minimise the spread of COVID-19 (mostly omicron variant). In the last 14 days, the positivity rate has reduced in a significant way.
According to the Ministry, in the last 24 hours, 46 children (0-10 years of age) found infected with COVID-19 while 80 (11-20), 496 (21-30), 457 (31-40), 253 (41-50), 212 (51-60), 154 (61-70), 110 (71-80) and 40 (80+) were infected.
There are still 242 patients admitted in ICUs, 42 in ventilators while 1,124 in institutional isolation and 29,117 in home isolation.
Globally, 401,176,794 cases have been registered on which 5,782,794 have died with COVID-19 complication.
