KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba reached New Delhi, India this afternoon as part of a three-day official visit to India.
Upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, the Prime Minister and his entourage was welcomed by Indian Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt, Nepal’s Ambassador to India, Dr Shanker Prasad Sharma, and senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, India and the Nepali Embassy here.
Meanwhile, India’s Minister for External Affairs S. Jaishankar has called on Prime Minister Deuba. The Prime Minister will reach the head office of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today to meet the BJP leaders.
Similarly, the Prime Minister will attend a reception to be hosted in his honour by Ambassador Sharma this evening at the Embassy.
Tomorrow, on April 2, the Prime Minister will hold delegation-level talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi at the Hyderabad House and the Indian Prime Minister will host a luncheon in honour of Prime Minister Deuba.
Following the talks with Modi, the PM Deuba will take part in the inauguration of the 35- kilometer Jayanagar-Kurtha Railway and the Solu Corridor Transmission Line supported by the government of India. Likewise, both Prime Ministers will virtually take updates of the 132 health service centers under construction in Nepal.
