In a regular press meet on Thursday, EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said EC’s attention was drawn to the remarks coming from the political parties’ leaders and cadres that raised confusions on election at a time when the preparations for the poll had reached the final stage.

He said the EC was keeping eyes on violations of election code of conduct and writing and inquiring for necessary action against those cases.

Meanwhile, the EC said as much as 7 million ballot papers were printed needed for 39 districts for the upcoming local level poll. Spokesperson Sharma said some 800,000 ballot papers have been printed in a daily basis at present.

It was also informed that applications were received from 65 different organisations for the election monitoring and the total number of monitors would be some 20,467 individuals.
The EC would take a decision soon after probing into the applications received for the election monitoring.
