KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley has a population of over six million. Out of that, two million people use their own vehicles, but four million people still use public transport and footpath. The same footpath is also prone to encroachment.
We can observe innumerable obstacles on the footpaths. Potholes, garbage and incomplete constructions are found everywhere. There are no sidewalks in many places, so you have to walk on the road. The sidewalks on the road are also narrow. It can be seen that electricity, internet cable wires are hung on those narrow footpaths.
After planting trees on these narrow roads, it has become even more difficult to walk. Due to lack of proper management of garbage, the road has become smelly, further worse in summer season. Let’s see some of the representative images of Kathmandu.
