Lahan: In Sirha district, three people died within a week due to electrocution while operating electric motor to draw water.
On Thursday, father and son died due to electrocution. According to the police, 42-year-old Bijay Sah and his 19-year-old son Amar of Golbazar Municipality-6 died while using electric motor.
When the motor for drawing water malfunctioned, the father first entered the well. After the father got electrocuted, the son also went into the well and both father and son who were injured due to electrocution died on the way to hospital, said Raju KC, police inspector of the area police office.
A girl died due to electric shock in Siraha municipality as well. Eight-year-old Ragni Kumari Yadav, daughter of Chandradev Yadav, a resident of Sirha Municipality-8, was electrocuted when she was going to take a bath in the tap.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Subas Budhathoki informed that Yadav, who was seriously injured due to electric shock, was declared dead by the doctor when she was brought to the provincial hospital Siraha.
