Minister commissions panel to suggest NAC reforms

Newly appointed Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has commissioned a team to suggest reforms in the national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation.

Former secretary Sushil Ghimire heads the five-member team as per a decision made by the minister on Wednesday. Other members are accounting expert Pramod Karna, management expert Prakash Paudel and captain Sudhir Shamsher Rai. The ministry’s joint secretary Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane will act as the member secretary.

The panel has been told to submit its recommendations to the ministry within next one month along with an action plan to implement them. Ministry sources inform that the minister is determined to introduce a concrete action plan to resolve managerial issues of the corporation.

The panel will study and analyse reports of similar panels formed in the part, asses the financial situation and identify institutional, managerial and professional problems.
