Jhapa: Constituency no 2 of Jhapa district began vote count for the election to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly early this morning.
Election officer Keshav Raj Pant informed that the vote count was initiated in constituency-2 at 3:30 am.
The count began with the votes cast from Arjundhara Municipality-11. Although the vote count was begun from a single booth, it would have five to six booths from 9:00 am, according to counter Saugat Katwal.
The District Election Office, Jhapa shared the information that it witnessed 65.42 percent turnout.

Vote counting kicks off in Kathmandu-7
The vote counting has recently begun in constituency no 7 of Kathmandu. The counting was begun at judo hall of Nayabazaar.
Election officer Usha Shrestha informed that the vote count was initiated after holding an all-party meeting. The vote counting was initiated by arranging four booths. Both the votes for members of the House of Representatives and of Provincial Assembly and proportional system would be counted together.
The constituency no 7 recorded some 60 percent turnouts. In this constituency, contenders are Ashmita Singh (Manushi Yami Bhattarai) of CPN (Maoist Centre), Shyam Kumar Ghimire of CPN UML, Rajendra Shrestha of Janata Samajbadi Party, and independent candidate Rambir Manandhar, among others.

Lalitpur-2 and Lalitpur-3 begins vote counting
The vote counting has begun at constituency-3 of Lalitpur as well. It began at the office of Local Development Training Institute, Jawalakhel.
Election officer Dharmaraj Poudel informed that the vote counting of ward no 20, 21 and 22 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City had begun. It will be intensified with arrangement of four counting booths, he added.
The CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Pampha Bhusal, CPN UML’s Amrit Khadka and Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Dr Toshima Karki and others in the fray here.
Likewise, Constituency no 2 of Lalitpur has recently begun vote counting at the National Sports Council, Satdobato in Lalitpur.
Election officer Dipshikha Munakarmi informed that they began vote counting making four stalls.
“The counting began at 4:00 am and there will be first update at 5:00am,” she added.

Vote counting to begin soon in Nuwakot
With the completion of the ballot boxes, the vote counting is beginning soon in Nuwakot, according to chief returning officer, Madan Bahadur Dhami.
Constituency no 1 is counting votes the office of Tadi Rural Municipality, Kharanitar, while District Court, Bidur will have the station for vote counting of constituency no 2.
The vote counting places have been ensured adequate security along with installation of CCTVs. The district recorded the turnouts at 54.39 percent in the elections to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly held on Sunday, according to district election officer, Jay Prasad Gautam.
