Hetauda: The first meeting of the newly-elected Bagmati Province Assembly met on Monday in Hetauda where the PA Members said that the leaders and people’s representatives should cater the service in the issues of national concerns.
Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party leader in Bagmati Province Bahadur Singh Lama committed to the issues of country’s sovereignty and sustainable protection of the nationality and expressed the confidence that good governance in the province could be maintained if the sense of services and responsibility was shouldered.
Likewise, parliamentary party (PP) leader of CPN (UML) Jagannath Thapaliya said that federal government should assist in coordinative role of the province government to expedite development infrastructures in the province.
Also speaking at the meeting, Maoist Centre PP leader Shalikram Jammakattel said political honesty was needed to make development pace vibrant in the province.
Similarly, PP leader of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Uddhab Thapa called for mutual cooperation and coordination to safeguard the nation’s nationality and sovereignty though they come from distinct identity, policy and ideology.
CPN (Unified Socialist)’s Krishna Prasad Sharma Khanal stated that the province civil servants’ morale should be kept high from the province government and for this the province assembly should do home work with innovative ideas.
Also speaking in the assembly, Srijana Sainju of Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party said her party will not join the government since it will work for good-governance in the province by maintaining accountability towards people.
Hamro Nepali Party’s PP leader Shailendra Raj Bajracharya said people’s representatives should focus on corruption control and the project to link the province capital city and Rasuwa should be promoted.
The next meeting of the Province Assembly shall be held on January 13.
Two ordinances tabled in Gandaki provincial assembly
In the first meeting of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly held today, two ordinances introduced by the Gandaki Provincial Government were presented.
On the occasion, Minister for Law, Communications and Provincial Assembly Affairs Bindu Kumar Thapa presented an ordinance to regulate the formation, operation and terms of service of Gandaki civil service and an ordinance to regulate the formation, operation and service conditions of local services.
A letter received from the office of the Chief of the Province regarding the convening of the session was read out.
The next meeting will be held on January 13.
