Meeting of 10-party alliance inconclusive on Vice President



Kathmandu, March 15: The meeting of the 10-party alliance ended without a conclusion on deciding name for Vice President.

On Wednesday, the 10-party alliance held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar, ended without a conclusion.
Shakti Basnet, the leader of (Maoist Centre) said that the meeting particularly discussed on vice presidential candidate. He said that the meeting between the 10 parties has ended positively and they will sit on Thursday and take further decisions.

He said, “There was a discussion about establishing an understanding between the 10 parties for the vice presidential election. The discussion has been positive. A decision will be made on this issue tomorrow.”

Leader Basnet said that discussions on government expansion and other issues have also started in the meeting.

Four candidates have applied for the post of Vice President. Among them, three candidates have emerged from the 10-party coalition. Mr Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav and Pramila Yadav are from Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) while Ms Mamta Jha stood from Janamat Party.

Likewise, CPN UML has fielded senior leader Mrs Asta Laxmi Shakya.
