Kathmandu, July 28: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the culture of demanding the resignation of ministers for political purposes is not good.
He said this while talking to media persons at Tribhuvan International Airport after returning home from Italy on Friday morning. He said that it is not a good practice to demand the resignation of the prime minister, home minister, and finance minister for political purposes. The ministers should be given opportunities for explanation.
Prime Minister Dahal said that the culture of not allowing the parliament to run if you do not resign without giving an opportunity to explain is not good.
He further said, ‘It’s a bad culture, and it shows an immature political activities among big parties.’
The main opposition CPN UML have been demanding the resignation of Home Affairs Minister Narayankaji Shrestha after failing to control gold smuggling from Tribhuvan International Airport. UML was more concerned with the Home Minister as he mentioned KP Oli for safeguarding the culprits.
KP Oli has already lambasted the opinion of Home Minister Shrestha. He has said the government was trying to protect smugglers and diverting the issues, including the gold smuggling case, to opposition party leaders.
While participating in the ‘Food System Summit in Rome, Italy, he said that he saw the direction of the country’s agricultural sector. Prime Minister Dahal also met the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, and discussed issues such as friendly relations between Nepal and Bangladesh, mutual cooperation, regional cooperation, cooperation between Nepal and Bangladesh in international forums.
He said that the Bangladesh government is willing to purchase hydropower produced in Nepal and it will be important for economic interdependence. He informed that he discussed about lumpy skin with international communities as well.
PM Dahal was participating the ‘Food System Summit +2’ organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) at Rome in Italy.
Speaker of House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Minister for Tourism Sudan Kirati others received the PM at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
