Washington DC, Aug 23: Nepali Ambassador to the United States of America Mr Sridhar Khatri met with US Senator Mr Chris Van Hollen (D-Maryland) at his office in the Capitol Hill on August 22, 2023.
In the meeting between Senator Hollen and Ambassador Khatri, multifaceted aspects of Nepal-US relations, democratic stability and US aid to Nepal’s economic development endeavours were discussed.
According to Nepali Embassy in Washington DC, Ambassador Khatri and the Senator Hollen exchanged views on various aspects of Nepal-US relations, including progress made by Nepal in strengthening democracy and the impact of US economic support in the country’s development.
Senator Hollen is a well-known senator among the Nepali community, as he had contributed to introducing a bill for permanent residence for Nepalis in America through the Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Mr Hollen, who represents Maryland in the US Senate, is an influential Senator from the Democratic Party. RSS
