Kathmandu, Oct 19: The Nepali Congress will be holding a tea party (reception) and greeting exchange program on the day of Kojagrat Purnima on October 28.
After the founding leader of the Nepali Congress, BP Koirala, returned home with the policy of national unity and reconciliation in the year 2033BS, every year the party held a tea ceremony on the day of Kojagrat Purnima to exchange greetings. Continuing this tradition, President Sher Bahadur Deuba will be organizing a tea ceremony this year as well, said Krishna Prasad Paudel, the party’s office secretary.
Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, Girija Prasad Koirala and Sushil Koirala continued the tea party program after BP’s death. After the death of Sushil Koirala, Deuba has been continuing the tea party program.
This year also on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami, Tihar, Nepal Samwat, Chhath and other festivals, the party will organize tea party at the party’s central office, BP Smriti Bhavan, BP Nagar, Lalitpur, on the day of Kojagrat Purnima on Saturday, October 28 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Leaders of various political parties, members of the Cabinet of the Government of Nepal, heads of constitutional bodies, parliamentarians, national service employees, heads of security agencies, heads of diplomatic missions, writers, artists, industrialists and businessmen, professionals and intellectuals, civil society leaders, human rights workers and public have been invited. Likewise, heads of various media organizations, journalists, heads of organizations of non-resident Nepalis and other dignitaries, members of Congress and well-wishers will participate.
