Dadeldhura, Dec 17: A fire that broke out in three shops including a store at Bagbazar of Amargadhi rural municipality-5 in the district on Saturday night caused damages worth over Rs 28 million.
The fire that erupted in a store due to short circuit engulfed three other adjacent shops, according to the District Police Office (DPO), Dadheldhura, Nepal.
DPO, Dadheldhura’s Spokesperson and Police Inspector Kusum Nayak said that fire damaged properties worth Rs 12 million of the Sulav Fancy Shop, Rs 8 million of the Kailpal Medical and similar amount of the Sishir Fancy Shop.
The inferno was taken under control after an hours’ efforts of the fire brigade and security officials from the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and locals.
Cases of fire breakout are frequent in the district headquarters lately. Meanwhile, property worth Rs 1.1 million was destroyed when a house and cowshed belonging to Bishwabandhu Thapa of Karmitar in Dhankuta municipality in the district caught a fire, police said.
The flame was doused with joint efforts of the fire brigade and security personnel, it was shared.
