Kathmandu, Dec 18: A bilateral agreement has been reached between the Kathmandu University and Nepal Police Hospital, Maharajgunj, in order to collaborate in medical education, research and training related subjects.
Vice-Chancellor of the KU, Prof Dr Bhola Thapa and Inspector General of Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, signed the agreement at a programme organised at the KU on Monday.
On the occasion, recalling the agreement signed with Kathmandu University School of Education in the past, IGP Kunwar stated that today’s agreement has further strengthened collaboration with KU.
He expressed the belief that the agreement has paved ways to exchange knowledge, experiences and expertise between the two institutions and promote mutual support in educational programmes.
Extending gratitude towards the support and collaboration of the KU for capacity building of the Nepal Police and to ensure robust work execution system, Kunwar shared that the Nepal Police was ready to identify further areas of collaboration and mutual cooperation in coming days.
He directed the Hospital Administration to forward activities with required mechanism to implement the agreement.
Similarly, KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Thapa expressed the belief that it would be supportive to the University to provide quality health education joining hands in medical education through the agreement with Nepal Police.
In the five-year agreement, both sides have agreed to run joint research projects, to actively participate in educational programmes, and to explore the possibilities of developing and implementing educational programmes to address the current and future needs of medicine and health sector. RSS
