Kathmandu, Feb 9: Out of 43 candidates who applied for the vacant post of Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, 14 candidates have been shortlisted. The recommendation committee has released the list for presentation and interview on Thursday.
According to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Kusum Shakya, Kesharjung Baral, Govinda Subedi, Chitra Bahadur Budhathoki, Gyanendra Prasad Poudyal, Tanknath Dhamala, Tirtharaj Khaniya, Narayan Belbase, Prakash Ghimire, Bhojraj Aryal, Mahendra Prasad Sharma, Ramchandra Basnet, Shiva Lal Bhusal and Surya Bahadur Thapa are among those who are on the list.
After the tenure of Dr Dharmakant Baskota, the Vice-Chancellor of Tu ended on Kartik 18, 2080 BS, Prime Minister and Chancellor of the University Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ formed a committee under the chairmanship of Minister of Education, Science and Technology Ashok Kumar Rai, Secretary Suresh Adhikari and Head of Department of Buddhist Studies, Dr Chandrakala Ghimire.
