Kathmandu, Sept 5: Conflict Victims’ Association has demanded Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to keep conflict victims in centre while appointing office-bearers in Transitional Justice Commission.
Submitting the memorandum to Prime Minister Oli at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar today, the delegation led by Association Chairperson Hima Kumari Gharti urged to appoint to such persons in Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons, who can give priority to sentiments of victims fairly.
The memo also asked to release the remaining relief amount immediately as each victim has received only Rs 150,000 against Rs 750,000 announced by the government in 2063 BS.
Army single woman, injured family association welcome TJ law
Meanwhile, the Army Single Women, Injured Family Association met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today and welcomed the introduction of the transitional justice law.
In the meeting held at the Official Residence of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar, President of the Association, Shobha BC, expressed hope that security personnel who suffered during the armed conflict would get justice.
It was on this day today that Surendra BC working for the Nepali Army was killed on 23 Bhadra 2059 BS, on the eve of Teej festival.
Remembering that unfortunate day, the office-bearers of the Association met Prime Minister Oli and drew his attention towards addressing the incidents that took place during conflict in a fair and just, and in a victim-friendly manner. #conflict #victims
