Kathmandu, Nov 7: The Chilime-Trishuli 220 kV transmission line has officially begun operating as of today.
The 28-kilometer transmission line stretches from the Chilime Substation in Thambuchet, Amachodingmo Rural Municipality of Rasuwa to the Trishuli Substation in Pahrebensi, Kispang Rural Municipality of Nuwakot.
This 220 KV transmission line will carry electricity generated by both existing and upcoming hydropower projects along the Trishuli River and its tributaries into the national grid, with a capacity to transmit up to 1,200 megawatts of power.
Funding for the Chilime-Trishuli project came from the Government of Nepal, a grant from the German Development Bank (KFW), and a concessional loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
A total of 76 towers were erected for the 28 km transmission line, spanning elevations from 680 to 2600 meters above sea level. #nepal #NEA
