Tanahu, Feb 2: A mother died and her son sustained injuries when a tipper and scooter collided at Malebagar of Shuklagandaki municipality in Tanahu district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Apsara Chhetri, 41, of Pokhara Metropolitan City 32, while her son Deepesh Kumar Chhetri got hurt, according to the District Police Office, Tanahu.
The incident took place when a tipper (Ga 1 Ka 5896) heading towards Damauli from Khairanitar hit a scooter (Ga 18 Pa 7752). The deceased Chhetri was a pillion rider in the scooter that was ridden by her son, informed DSP Ashok Thapa.
Injured Chhetri is currently receiving treatment at GP Koirala National Respiratory Treatment Centre, Thapa said, adding that the same tipper also knocked a car (o1-022 Cha 6778).
Police have been searching for the tipper driver who absconded after the mishap, it was shared. #accident #nepal
