KMC emission test campaign: 32 out of 42 vehicles fail



Kathmandu, Feb 3:  Under the joint supervision of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), Metropolitan Police Force, Environment Management Department, and Traffic Police, vehicle emission tests were conducted in the metropolitan area on Magh 20 at Kamalpokhari road.

Out of 42 vehicles tested, 32 failed to meet the required emission standards, while seven vehicles were found to be in good condition.

Authorities have initiated legal action against the vehicles that failed the test.

Earlier, emission test at Bhadrakali found that out of 62 vehicles tested, eight failed to meet the emission standards, while 54 were in proper condition.

The Metropolitan Environment Department has launched emission test campaign after complaints received from residents and travelers regarding the pollutant vehicles. In many instances, public vehicles as bus, micro-bus, mini-trucks have been found mostly pollutant. #pollution #nepal #kathmandu
