Biratnagar, March 15: Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikat Kumar Karki, has spoken on the need for an infrastructure policy for sustainable development.
In his address to the Infrastructure Policy Formulation Seminar held at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Biratnagar today, the Chief Minister said the formulation of Office projects based on policy will contribute to maintaining consistency with the planning commission’s programmes and the government’s annual programmes.
The climate change impact has warranted policy-based development endeavors, the Chief Minister said the development initiative bypassing the climate change aspect had resulted in destruction.
He highlighted the need to assess the risk of disaster and climate change before drafting the development policy.
