Kathmandu, May 9: Nepali Congress lawmaker Mukta Kumari Yadav has stressed the need for increasing budget for capital spending. She viewed the government could even curb budget for current spending to increase it for the capital expenditure.
During a deliberation on government policies and programmes tabled for the fiscal year, 2082/083, lawmaker Yadav said the bills relating to education, civil service and police need passage at the earliest. “Real farmers should be benefitted from State entitlement. Increasing production and productivity need to be focused by the budget,” she suggested.
UML lawmaker Nirmala Koirala said effective enforcement of government policies and programmes could help pave way for country’s prosperity.
Lawmaker of the same party, Saraswati Subba, underlined the need for addressing the problems facing the landless Dalit and squatters.
Bijula Raymajhi of the UML observed that the policies and programmes the government brought were realistic, reflecting country’s economic status and mobilization of resources.
Another UML lawmaker to appreciate the policies and programmes was Harka Maya Bishwokarma. It was actionable document, she said. The next meeting of the House of Representatives will be held on Sunday.#nepal #political #rss
