Lalitpur, Dec 6: President Ram Chandra Paudel has emphasized that development capable of enhancing citizens’ living standards is the nation’s foremost need at present.
Speaking at a special ceremony today to inaugurate the newly constructed building of the Lalitpur Metropolitan City, the President underscored the importance of delivering effective public services and promoting good governance. He said that public officials must remain mindful of their responsibility to listen to and address citizens’ concerns.
“It is the responsibility of public servants to hear and respond to the issues raised by the people,” he said. “Democracy is not merely a system of governance; it is a culture of listening to public voices and delivering according to their aspirations. Political leadership must evolve in line with the expectations and aspirations of the new generation,” he added.
Noting that the younger generation aspires to good governance, President Paudel called on all stakeholders to contribute to ensuring the successful conduct of the House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled for March 5, 2026. He stated that doing so would help address the sentiments of the youth, strengthen the Constitution and the federal democratic republic, and pave the way for resolving the nation’s current challenges. #nepal #president
