Madan Puraskar and Jagadamba Shree Puraskar through virtual



Kathmandu: The prestigious Madan Puraskar and Jagadamba Shree Puraskar have been distributed virtually due to COVID-19 pandemic for the first time on Sunday.

According to Madan Puraskar Guthi, Madan Puraskar was conferred to Chandra Prakash Baniya for his book “Maharani”. He was in Pokhara.

Similarly, Jagadamba Shree Puraskar was given to Shanti Thatal. She is currently in Siliguri of West Bengal, India.

Historian Dr Shekhar Pathak and Ganesh Rashik were two distinguished guest at the prize distribution ceremony who were also connected remotely. Dr Pathak was speaking from Nainital, India.

Dr Pathak spoke about the inter-relational geography, literature, cultural aspect of both sides of Mahakali river.

Similarly Mr Rashik addressed the ceremony with a keynote speech from Siliguri, India.

The Guthi has received a total of 151 books, and 7 books were short-listed for the final review, Guthi Chairman Kunda Dixit said.
