Local administration cautions RSP to abide by election Code of Conduct

Nawalpur, Feb 10: The District Administration Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Sustapaschim), has urged the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) to strictly abide by the Election Code of Conduct.

Issuing a notice on Monday, the District Administration Office asked the RSP not to carry out any activities that could violate the Election Code of Conduct, stating that it had received information about the party’s proposed Ghanti Abhivadan event scheduled to be held at the district headquarters.

Assistant Chief District Officer and Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer Poshanraj Bhandari said the party’s attention had been drawn to the need to follow the code of conduct to ensure that the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections are conducted in a decent and orderly manner.

“We have not stopped them from organizing the programme. However, political parties and candidates are prohibited from displaying jackets, shirts, vests, T-shirts, towels, masks or any other clothing, as well as stickers, logos, bags, badges and other materials carrying election symbols in violation of the code of conduct,” Bhandari said.

Earlier, RSP cadres were seen on social media platforms ringing bells during public relations programmes and Ghanti Abhivadan events associated with party chair Rabi Lamichhane. #nepal #rsp #election
