Kathmandu, March 19: The Election Commission Nepal (ECN) has submitted the final report of the 275-member House of Representatives election held on March 5, 2026 to President Ram Chandra Paudel.
The report was presented on Thursday at the Presidential Office, Shital Niwas, by Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari.
On the occasion, President Paudel expressed happiness that the election was successfully conducted despite difficult and complex circumstances. He thanked the Election Commission, civil servants, and all stakeholders involved for their contributions.
“The House of Representatives election held on March 5 was conducted in a free, fair, and fear-free environment. The Commission has successfully fulfilled its responsibility, which has increased public trust in the Election Commission and the electoral system, thereby strengthening democracy,” President Paudel said.
Now, the President Paudel will invite parties to form the government in accordance with the Article 76(1) of the Constitution. In the constitution, a parliamentary party leader of the largest party that holds the majority in the 275-member House will be appointed as the Prime Minister.
According to previous agreement, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) will nominate party’s senior leader Balen Shah as the Prime Ministerial post. The RSP has won 182 seats in the 275 member House. #nepal #election
