Kathmandu, April 4: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Nepal Airlines will operate special flights on selected sectors from April 3 to 5, 2026, to facilitate travel for Nepali nationals in the Gulf region.
The initiative was taken under the leadership of Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal following a high-level meeting held on March 31 at the ministry. The meeting was attended by senior representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, and Nepal Airlines.
The discussions focused on facilitating the travel needs of Nepali citizens in the Gulf and ensuring continuity of essential air connectivity. Regular flights on these routes had been suspended since February 28, 2026, due to ongoing tensions and security concerns in West Asia.
The ministry expressed appreciation to Nepal Airlines for arranging the special flights and acknowledged the support of Rastriya Beema Company Limited for facilitating necessary insurance arrangements.
It also thanked all concerned agencies for effective coordination and reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the interests of Nepali citizens while maintaining international connectivity during the crisis.
In a response to unilateral US-Israel attack, Iran has also been firing missiles and drones in gulf countries targeting US assets in these countries, including public places. Nepalis and other country’s migrant workers have been facing hardship due to these attacks. One Nepali migrant worker have already died there and many workers have sustained injuries. #nepal #IranWar
