BAITADI, Nov 24: Five persons have died today in a road accident that took place at Budda in ward no. 10 of Dasrathchand municipality in the district.
The deceased have been identified as Kalawati Chand,75, of Shurnaya rural municipality-4, 77-year-old Bhagirath Pandeya of Patan municipality-5, 72-year-old Parbati Chand of Dasharath municipality-5 and Krishna Lal Lawad,58, of ward no-2 of the same municipality, 70-year-old Parbatidevi Chand of Patan municipality-5, according to chief of District Police Office DSP Narayan Prasad Adhikari.
The accident took place when a jeep (Na. 1 Ja. 2196) heading towards Gothalapani from Jhulaghat near to the India border fell some 200 meters below the road at Budda.
Four others including the jeep driver Gopal Singh Karki have been seriously injured in the incident. Karki is undergoing treatment in Dhangadi while others at the district hospital.
The people in the ill-fated jeep were reportedly returning home after receiving their monthly pension.
