Export of plywood via eastern point comes to total halt

Jhapa, March 25: India has intervened in the export of plywood from the eastern Kakarbhitta transit point. According to the Mechi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) President Khem Prasai, 34 Nepali containers loaded with plywood were stopped from crossing the border into India by the Panitanki Customs Office, Ranigunj.

Veneer sheets and ply board worth Rs 5 million 92 million and 592 thousand was exported through the eastern border
Plywood and veneer worth Rs 3 bln exported to India

In the fiscal year 2023/24, 99 thousand eight hundred and one metric tons of wooden goods worth Rs 2 billion
