ACC Under-16: Naren scores 112 runs, Malaysia under pressure



Kathmandu, July 4: Nepali youth batsman Naren has scored 112 runs in the final against host Malaysia in the ACC Mens Under-16 East Zone played at Bayuemas Oval, Pandamaran, Malaysia. He faced 89 balls. He hit 2 sixes and 10 fours, and remained not out.

After winning the toss Nepali team decided to bat first. In the 35 overs match, Nepal posted 252 runs with the loss of 8 wickets. Other than Naren, Niraj Kumar Yadav scored 47 runs, Suryanshu Koirala 18, Santosh Yadav 26, Ashok Dhami 11, Dipu Kumar 5, Abhisekh Tiwari (c) 4, Pratik Bhattrai 1 and Aashish Luhar (wk) 2 runs.

Meanwhile, chasing a mammoth total of 253 runs, Malaysia has already lost 8 wickets after scoring just 30 runs in 11 overs.

Nepali bowlers Abhisekh Tiwari has grabbed 5 wickets, Santosh Yadav dismissed 2 and Sagar Gaire 1 players.
