Kavrepalanchok, June 27: The Araniko Highway will experience a nighttime closure for 15 days, starting from July 6 to 20, for the upgrading of the Dhulikhel-Khawa road section.
This decision, announced by the District Security Committee, aims to expedite the blacktopping process.
During this period, entry for tippers and large cargo trucks will be entirely prohibited, while other passenger and cargo vehicles will be restricted from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.
Gopal Kumar Adhikari, the chief district officer, noted that the construction timeline has been affected due to the end of the fiscal year, necessitating these measures to ensure the smooth transportation of construction materials.
To alleviate traffic disruptions, the committee recommends that drivers utilize alternative routes whenever possible.
Emergency service vehicles, including ambulances, however will be permitted to operate at night too.
Coordination with district administration offices in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Dolakha, and Sindhupalchok will be established to manage vehicle flow and assist travelers during this period. #nepal #rss
