Around 210,000 metric tonnes of fertilizer being imported within mid-August

Kathmandu, July 1: The Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Environment, has made preparation to import around 210,000 metric tonnes of chemical fertilizer within mid-August.

The Ministry has forwarded a process to import such quantity of chemical fertilizer through different medium to ensure supply of the fertilizer required for paddy crop.

Thirty thousand metric tonnes of urea to be brought from India under government to government (G2G) agreement would arrive Nepal in the first week of August.

Out of 180,000 metric tonnes of chemical fertilizer to be imported through global tender with different countries, 60,000 metric tonnes is DAP fertilizer and 120,000 metric tonnes is urea fertilizer.

The Ministry has set a target of importing the highest amount of chemical fertilizer so far this year. The Ministry has also made arrangement of registering complaints through hotline number 9700099113 and QR code from 7:00 am-7:00 pm if black marketing or irregularities of chemical fertilizer in local-level is found taken place. #nepal
