Awareness programme for Nepali workers in Doha



Kathmandu, June 6: The Nepali Embassy in Doha organized an awareness raising programme for Nepali workers on Friday.

Legal advisor to the National Human Rights Committee of Qatar for Nepali Community, Hamid Khan sensitized the participants about the laws and rules to be followed in Qatar, as well as potential risks that may arise during their stay.

Labour Attaché Sita Duwadi from the Embassy informed about Nepal’s labour laws, labour approval process, and the benefits related to social security.

According to the Embassy, Second Secretary Smarika Subedi provided information about passport and consular services provided by the Embassy.

Benu Prasad Timalsina, a representative of Himal Remit in Qatar, made participants aware of the benefits of sending remittances through formal channels and the risks of using informal channels under banking and remittance awareness.

Wrapping up the programme, Charge d’Affaires Kumar Rai called for Nepali workers to fully comply with Qatar’s labour laws. #nepal #rss
