Kathmandu, June 12: The Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu has launched its annual “Season’s Best Compliments” initiative, sharing premium Bangladeshi mangoes with distinguished personalities across Nepal as a symbol of goodwill and diplomatic friendship.
Under the initiative, more than 1,750 kilograms of premium-quality Bangladeshi mangoes were distributed to Nepali dignitaries, senior government officials, ambassadors and members of the diplomatic community, business leaders, civil society representatives, and long-time friends and well-wishers of Bangladesh.
The Embassy team delivered mango gift packs to over 360 recipients, including the Right Honorable President of Nepal, the Speaker, members of the Council of Ministers, and other prominent figures.
The mangoes were freshly harvested from two orchards in Chapai Nawabganj, widely known as Bangladesh’s mango capital. To preserve freshness and quality, the shipment was transported to Nepal through Banglabandha Port, Fullbari Land Port (Siliguri border), and Kakarbhitta Port.
This year’s consignment featured the renowned Khirshapat variety which is a GI-certified mango recognized as one of the most flavorful varieties in the Indian subcontinent.
According to the Embassy, the initiative highlights the enduring friendship and growing people-to-people ties between Bangladesh and Nepal. The annual “Mango Diplomacy” gesture reflects warmth, mutual goodwill, and continued efforts to deepen bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries. #nepal
