Kathmandu, Jan 12: Minister for Communications, Information and Technology Jagadish Kharel asserted that the basis for change ought to be laid through the March 5 election to House of Representatives (HoR).
Inaugurating the 20th annual general assembly of the Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN) here on Monday, Minister Kharel emphasized that voters should be ready to cast ballot when the country is seeking a change.
“The country is seeking a change. A good leadership, irrespective of any political party, should be elected through the election. It is imperative to create a situation where the old tendencies do not recur,” appealed the Minister encouraging the eligible voters to elect the ‘good’ leadership in the upcoming election.
It may be noted that the interim government formed in the wake of Gen-Z uprising on September 8 and 9 last year and led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki has announced to hold election to HoR members on upcoming March 5.
He regretted that the nation-building was far from becoming a reality since, he argued, the politics of the country remained focused on fulfilling family interest, factional interest and forging coalition to ascend to power.
Kharel suggested that one should independently do good deeds rather than drooling over securing ‘profits’ or ‘positions’ being swayed away by pressure or influence of any political party or politicians.
Recalling his collaboration with ECAN in the past during his stint as a journalist, the Minister pledged his support to the organization whichever posts he would hold or whichever profession he would be involved in.
Moreover, the Minister acknowledged the important role of ECAN in the education sector of the country and viewed that education entrepreneurs associated with the ECAN had been contributing to the national economy.
Similarly, ECAN President Sheshraj Bhattarai highlighted the crucial role of ECAN, a centre of all educational consultancies in Nepal, in producing skilled human resource through quality education.#nepal #rss
