Kathmandu, June 4: Both houses of the Federal Parliament are scheduled to meet today. The House of Representatives will convene at 1:00 PM.
During the session, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will present a proposal for a general discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2082/83, accompanied by a statement.
Additionally, Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Ramhari Khatiwada, will present the “Federal Civil Service Bill Committee Report, 2082.”
The National Assembly is also scheduled to meet at 1:15 PM. In this session as well, Finance Minister Paudel will present the same proposal for a general discussion on the annual revenue and expenditure estimates, and the discussion will commence accordingly.
Following a general consensus among political parties—both from the ruling coalition and the opposition—the House meeting will proceed from today onwards.
Opposition parties had been demanding the resignation of Home Affairs Minister Ramesh Lekhak over his alleged involvement in the visit-visa case. However, Minister Lekhak has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Senior leaders of the ruling alliance, including Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, have repeatedly refused to remove Minister Lekhak, stating that the allegations are baseless. #nepal
