Breaking: Australian cricket icon Shane Warne dies at 52

Australian legend and one of the greatest leg-break spinners of all time, Shane Warne, has died at the age of 52.

“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” Warne’s management have confirmed in a statement.

According to initial reports, he died of a heart attack.

A bowler who is credited with reviving the art of Leg Spin, Warne played for Australia for 145 tests and took 708 wickets.

Just 12 hours ago, Warned had tweeted his condolence message following the death of another cricket legend, former Australian keeper Rodney Marsh.

Tributes have already started pouring in for Warne, whose battles against Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara defined 90s Test Cricket.
