Breastfeeding room in ward office in Tulsipur



Dang, Jan 28: A breastfeeding room has been established in Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city Ward No. 13 office.

The room has been established with the aim of making breastfeeding easier for the employees and service recipients, said Ward president Mohan Paudel. The room was established in the new building constructed by the ward.

Among the 100 wards of the district, Tulsipur-13 is reportedly the first ward to have established this breastfeeding room. It is part of the ward’s initiative to make its service beneficiary-friendly, he said.

According to the Safe Motherhood and Reproductive Health Rights Act, 2075, government, non-government, or private organizations are required to arrange breastfeeding facility for women employees and service recipients.

The new ward building was constructed at a cost of Rs 4.3 million to serve a population of 6,000. #Nepal
