Budget allocated to control monkey menace



Khandbari, Dec 8, 2019 : Khandbari municipality has allocated budget to control monkey menace. The recent municipal assembly allocated Rs 200 thousand to study on the measures that could be adopted to control money terror in the municipality.

A thorough study would be conducted on the terror posed by monkey at Ward No 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 and 11 of the municipality and suggestions furnished to tame the monkeys. Chairperson at Ward No, Dambar Katwal, informed that monkeys damaged crops much, so it was essential for the local levels to take measures.

The villagers said as the jungle around villages grew denser in the recent years, monkey terror grew alarmingly. Maize is destroyed in the rainy season while paddy, vegetables and fruits in the winter.

Troop of monkeys perish crops in no time. Even the nuisance by porcupine and other wild animal is equally worrying here, added Katwal.

Chief administrative officer Komal Prasad Dhamala at Khandbari municipality informed that the budget was allocated to control monkey after the locals urged much for it. —
