Kathmandu, May 28: The Cabinet meeting has been delayed. The meeting, initially slated to convene at 11 AM, has been rescheduled to start at 2 PM.
Similarly, the budget presentation, originally set for 11 AM in the joint session of Federal Parliament, has also been postponed by two hours. The budget speech, which was supposed to take place at 1 PM, will now be delivered at 3 PM.
Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun will present the budget.
The opposition parties including Nepali Congress have not yet clarified on whether they will protest in today’s parliament session. They are demanding to form a parliamentary probe committee to investigate the mishandling of the fund of cooperatives, particularly the involvement of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane on syphoning millions of rupees into Gorkha Media Pvt Ltd where he was Managing Director.
