Kathmandu, May 16: Passengers need to be treated with courtesy and by availing hygienic food services to bring improvements to the public transport sector, said transport entrepreneurs.
At a programme organised in Kathmandu to honour the newly-elected executive committee of the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs through its recent Seventh General Convention held in Pokhara, the entrepreneurs expressed the view that good behaviors and warm response towards passengers play a vital role in improving the public transport sector.
Federation’s outgoing President Bijay Bahadur Swanr claimed that he dedicated his four-year term to implementing numerous reformative efforts in the public transport service.
He stressed the need to ensure that each passenger is treated properly and served hygienic food services to bring transformative changes to the public transport service.
“We make millions of investments while entering the public transport sector, but we are regarded merely as bus owners. Now, we need to establish ourselves as real entrepreneurs.”
Newly-elected President of the Federation, Punya Prasad (Saroj) Sitaula, pledged to leave no stone unturned to further systematise public transport, making it more decent and reliable.
As he said, the new leadership will take measures aimed at mitigating road accidents and promoting an IT-friendly transport sector in coordination with the government.
According to him, over Rs 1,300 billion has been invested in this sector, creating over 500,000 jobs. #nepal #rss
