By-elections to the National Assembly in Lumbini on May 31

KATHMANDU: A by-election is scheduled to be held on May 31 for the vacant National Assembly member post from Lumbini State.

According to the Election Commission, Chandra Bahadur Khadka, who was elected to the National Assembly from the UCPN (Maoist Centre), has been removed from the party.

By-elections are being held in place of Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal in Bagmati on May 20. As per the Constitution, the by-election has to be held within 35 days of the vacancy of the National Assembly member post.
