Kathmandu, May 28: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has inaugurated the newly constructed Parallel Taxiway “P” along with associated taxiways “S” and “T” at Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday.
According to CAAN, the newly operational taxiway system is expected to significantly improve aircraft ground movement efficiency, enhance operational safety, reduce runway occupancy time and increase the overall operational capacity of Tribhuvan International Airport.
The inauguration ceremony was jointly organized by Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Secretary Mukunda Niraula and CAAN Director General Mukesh Dangol. Representatives from the ministry, CAAN, airport offices, airlines and other project stakeholders were also present at the event.
The project was implemented under CAAN’s Air Transport Capacity Enhancement Project. Authorities believe the upgraded infrastructure will help ease air traffic congestion and strengthen airport operations at Nepal’s busiest international gateway. #TIA #Nepal
