CAAN takes action against NAC crew members

Kathmandu, March 21: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the regulatory body of Nepalese civil airlines, has taken action against Nepal Airlines crew members and airport staff in Taplejung.

According to CAAN, it has suspended involved crew, flight dispatcher and Taplejung airport ground staff of Nepal Airlines until further notice for flying overweight (48kg extra) and falsely recording one male passenger as female in Taplejung-Kathmandu flight on 20th March, 2023.

In recent times, CAAN has stepped up action against airlines, their staff and official for not following the safety rules as prescribed by CAAN and ICAO guidelines.

On Monday, CAAN suspended two maintenance personnel of Nepal Airlines until further notice on account of leaving right hand side cockpit window open overnight of an Airbus A330 aircraft.
