HETAUDA: Amid a controversy, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Rajendra Pandey, has expanded his cabinet for the third time today.
With this, the Bagmati Province Government is now an 11-member cabinet. Chief Minister Pandey has increased the number of ministries to accommodate different parties in the government, which was criticised by civil society and general people.
Chief Minister Pandey appointed five ministers and one state minister from CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN (Unified Socialist).
Chief Minister Pandey picked Ghanashyam Dahal as the Minister for Labour, Employment and Transport, Bishal Khadka as Minister for Forest and Environment and Ratna Prasad Dhakal as Minister for Youth and Sports from the of CPN (Maoist Centre).
Likewise, Basant Kumar Manandhar was appointed as Minister for Drinking Water, Energy and Irrigation, Basundhara Humagain as the Minister for Agriculture and Livestock and Indramaya Gurung as the State Minister for Agriculture and Livestock.
All the newly-appointed ministers and state minister took oath of office on Tuesday itself.
Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma administered oath of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed ministers while the Chief Minister Pandey administered oath to State Minister Gurung amid a function organised at the Office of the Province Chief this evening.
