Case filed against energy businessman Guru Neupane

Kathmandu, March 23: A case has been filed in Kathmandu District Court against energy businessman Guru Prasad Neupane demanding a fine of Rs 32.30 million and imprisonment.

District Public Prosecutor’s Office Kathmandu filed the case against Neupane on charges of share insider trading. After the complaint of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), the police investigated the case. According to the indictment, Neupane traded shares of the same company while he was the chairman of Ridi Power Company Limited and took unauthorized profit of Rs 32.30 million from it.

The SEBON had decided to take action against Neupane and Nepal Hydro Developers Company Chairman Gyanendra Lal Pradhan on Mangsir 24, 2079 BS, judging that the shares were traded illegally. Accordingly, after the investigation, a case was filed against Neupane.
